Liverpool are keeping tabs on versatile Ajax defender Devyne\u00a0Rensch, sources have told Football Insider<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Merseysiders are assessing the market for potential right-back signings who can fit into Jurgen Klopp’s system and also potentially slot in to other defensive roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rensch<\/a> is believed to be a target for the club’s recruitment team, with Premier League title rivals Arsenal also closely monitoring the Netherlands international.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defender is the first-choice right-back at Ajax and has already racked up 101 first-team appearances for the Dutch giants even though he is just 20 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has notched one assist in nine games across all competitions this season but has missed out on their last three outings with an injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rensch has exclusively played at right-back during the 2023-24 campaign but his impressive versatility means he can also feature at centre-back, defensive midfield and left-back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has also experienced European football while at the Johan Cruyff Arena, playing 19 total games in the Champions League and Europa League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The right-back, who is under contract at Ajax until June 2025, made his first and only senior Netherlands appearance in September 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ajax sit bottom of the Eredivisie after eight games after winning just once this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liverpool are on the search for defensive reinforcements ahead of the January transfer window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trent Alexander-Arnold missed three games through injury earlier this term, with Joe Gomez coming in to replace him in a less familiar right-back role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
