Gabby Agbonlahor<\/strong> has insisted there is “absolutely no doubt” Thiago Silva can “play on” at Chelsea despite his advancing years.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider<\/strong>, admitted the 39-year-old may choose to return to Brazil or head to Saudi Arabia after his time in England.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Football Insider <\/strong>revealed on Sunday (22 October) that Brazillian giants Fluminense are ready to offer Silva the chance to return to his homeland next summer.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sources have also told Football Insider <\/strong>(20 October) that the veteran defender is now increasingly likely to leave the Blues at the end of the season.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silva<\/a>‘s contract at Stamford Bridge is set to expire in June 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has been at the club since 2020 and lifted the Champions League in his first campaign in England.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 113-cap star has played every minute of all nine Premier League games this season and has racked up 126 appearances in total for Chelsea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agbonlahor told Football Insider<\/strong>\u2019s Ewan Kingsbury: \u201cIt will depend on him and what kind of level he wants to play at.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe might look at it and think he\u2019s earned enough money at Chelsea, and he\u2019s happy to take less somewhere else.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe might even be settled in London. He\u2019s been there a while.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t know what his plans are, exactly. He could go back to Brazil or try Saudi Arabia.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut if we\u2019re talking about him as a player. Looking at his performances so far this season, there\u2019s absolutely no doubt that can still play on in the Premier League. So, I expect a U-turn could happen\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
