It would take a bid of at least \u00a380million for Man City to consider selling red-hot forward Julian Alvarez, sources have told Football Insider<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

City’s current record departure is the reported<\/a> \u00a347.5million deal which took Raheem Sterling to Chelsea in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interested clubs would need to far eclipse that figure to even open the door to a potential swoop for Alvarez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Football Insider <\/strong>revealed on Monday (23 October) that Man City are really confident the forward will remain at the club despite reported interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A well-placed source has told Football Insider <\/strong>that City “do not need the money” and are “desperate” to keep Alvarez around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The World Cup winner was signed for a reported<\/a> fee of \u00a314.1million back in January 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He contributed heavily as City won the treble last season, scoring 17 goals and grabbing five assists across 49 games.T<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most impressive feat in his career so far came as he managed four goals in the World Cup finals as Argentina lifted the trophy last winter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alvarez has taken that form to another level in the new campaign while playing in a second striker berth alongside talisman Erling Haaland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He penned a new five-year contract earlier this year amid continued speculation linking him with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
