Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has been backed for a return to the Premier League. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider<\/strong>, former Rangers defender Alan Hutton has no doubt Carter-Vickers would be capable of a spot in a Premier League team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 25-year-old joined the Celts on loan from Spurs in 2021 before penning a permanent deal and has been the number one centre-back since then. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to American outlet Sporting News<\/a> (17 October), the defender didn’t rule out a return to the English top flight but insisted he is perfectly happy at Parkhead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hutton suggested Carter-Vickers could easily return to England and play at the top level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I think he has shown since he has been at Celtic that he is more than capable of playing at that level<\/em>,” he told Football Insider<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“He has been down there with Tottenham for a long time, he knows what it takes and I think he has become a better player since he went to Celtic. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I think that is what a lot of players need, exposure to big games, playing week in week out to improve and he is definitely doing that. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The grass is not always greener but if there is an opportunity there to go to a team in the Premier League, it is going to be very difficult to turn it down. I’m pretty sure it will happen at some point.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“He is a player Celtic really need within that squad and that is what you have to show if you want a move to the Premier League.<\/em>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n
