Leeds United stars who had relegation clauses in their contracts should have been sold in the summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider<\/strong>, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie couldn’t believe Leeds stars would have relegation release clauses<\/a> in their contracts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jack Harrison, Robin Koch, Brenden Aaronson, Max Wober, Diego Llorente, Rasmus Kristensen and Marc Roca all had clauses in their contracts that would allow them to leave on a temporary basis in the event that the Whites were relegated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whilst Koch, Aaronson, Kristensen and Roca all put pen to paper on a deal that included the clause in advance of the 2022-23 campaign, Llorente, Wober and Harrison all signed new deals during last season when the club were in real danger of dropping down to the second division. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

McAvennie couldn’t believe players would even consider abandoning their side in a time of need. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I signed for West Ham when I knew they were getting relegated,<\/em>” he told Football Insider<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“People say you are an idiot but not for me because I have still got the love from the West Ham fans because of it. I am very loyal like that so I could not have abandoned them in the Championship, but some people can. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Getting relegated is just part and parcel of football. If you work your socks off then you will not get relegated. Why are the players thinking like that? It’s a disgrace. If I was a manager I would get rid of players if they are thinking like that.<\/em>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n
