Real Madrid’s Andriy Lunin would be a “wonderful” addition to Celtic but would likely snub the Scottish champions for a Premier League move. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider<\/strong>, former Hoops striker Frank McAvennie would love to see a player of Lunin’s calibre at Parkhead but suggested a deal for the goalkeeper is hig9\u00f8hly unlikely. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brendan Rodgers’ current number one Joe Hart will be out of contract in the summer and the Hoops are in desperate need of reinforcements between the sticks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Daily Record<\/a> (16 October), the Cels are considering a move for Lunin and is one of several shot stoppers that is being watched and analysed by the recruitment team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There had been interest in the summer window but Real were reluctant to do business with the 24-year-old having started the first two games of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then the Ukraine international has become frustrated with his lack of game time after the club brought in Kepa Arrizbalaga on loan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

McAvennie insisted he would love to see the keeper at Parkhead but doesn’t think fans should get their hopes up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I do not know if he would come to Celtic<\/em>,” he told Football Insider<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“He would have been there on the night that Real Madrid played at Celtic Park and that was a wonderful occasion. But playing against teams like Ross County, there are not many glamour nights in Scotland. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I do not think he would move from Real Madrid. I would love it, I would love somebody from Real Madrid to come to Celtic but I just do not see that happening. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I would have thought there will be a lot of suitors for someone of that calibre, a lot of Premier League clubs needing good goalkeepers. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“If he comes to Celtic and we can get two years out of him that would be ideal. Would he want to do that? Only he could make that decision. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
