Rangers fans have been very critical after a journalist revealed the lengths the club had gone to during their managerial process before appointing Philippe Clement.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gers finally selected Michael Beale’s successor after a lengthy search and selected the former Club Brugge and Genk boss as their 19th manager. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beale was sacked earlier this month after a poor run of form that included defeats to Celtic and Aberdeen as well as being knocked out of the Champions League. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former player Steven Davis had taken interim charge of the club during their hunt and lost his first game in charge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gers had shortlisted Kevin Muscat and Clement and had been conducting final talks with the pair, with Clement ultimately coming out on top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But according to journalist Chris Jack<\/a> (16 October), the Gers had compiled a “data-driven directory” of managers that could take over whilst Beale was still in his role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But fans have not been impressed with the Gers’ approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One fan couldn’t believe that the board would treat Beale so poorly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
