Guochuan Lai should ‘get out’ of West Brom and accept a \u00a3165million loss on his investment.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider <\/strong>that a full sale is best for Lai with the Baggies losing more money each week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As revealed by Football Insider<\/strong>, the sale of West Brom is set to accelerate after Lai dropped his asking price for the club down to \u00a335million<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lai initially set an asking price of \u00a350million for the club, but decided to drop his demands in a bid to get a deal over the line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Albion chiefs have held talks with potential takeover parties in the United States and Middle East as they try to find a suitor before the January window opens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Telegraph<\/a> report that West Brom will face a fire sale in January if no new owners are found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maguire explained that Lai took a ‘gamble’ when purchasing West Brom and will now have to accept a huge loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This is a much more realistic price<\/em>,” Maguire told Football Insider’s <\/strong>Sean Fisher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“If we take a look at clubs in the Championship, Leeds sold for \u00a350million a few years ago and I think everybody would accept that Leeds United are a club with higher income streams and a larger fan base than West Bromwich Albion.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Sunderland\u2019s sale was for around \u00a330million when they were between the Championship and League One.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“So \u00a335million would be a substantial loss for Guochuan Lai considering he paid around about \u00a3200million for the club.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“But if the club is continuing to lose money on a week-by-week basis then it\u2019s best to get out.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Owners having to suck it up is part of the game – they take a gamble when they buy a football club.<\/em>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n
