Bryan Gil is set to come in from the cold and play a key role for Tottenham in the coming weeks, sources have told Football Insider<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gil was expected to leave in the summer window after a spell on loan at Sevilla in the second half of last season but is now closing in on a comeback and a first-team role at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 22-year-old has not featured for Spurs since January and only recently returned to full training following a groin injury he picked up in the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gil has “blown away” manager Ange Postecoglou in training at Hotspur Way, sources say, and is in line for a major role in the side following long-term injuries to Ivan Perisic and Manor Solomon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lilywhites confirmed<\/a> (5 October), that Solomon suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee in training this week and has undergone surgery on the problem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is set to be out until Christmas while last month teammate Ivan Perisic broke down with a complex anterior cruciate ligament injury that was also picked up in training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perisic is set to miss the majority of the season and Football Insider<\/strong> revealed (6 October) that he has reached a verbal agreement to join Hadjuk Split.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spurs could sanction the move in the January window<\/a> with the player not expected to wear the jersey again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The injuries have opened the door for Gil, who made 11 first team appearances last term before being sent out on loan, to force his way into Postecoglou’s new-look Tottenham side. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
