Gabby Agbonlahor<\/strong> has insisted Rangers should move on from their pursuit of Graham Potter and “take their time” before deciding on a new manager.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider<\/strong>, insisted the Ibrox club are an “attractive” proposition and shouldn’t be “begging” managers to take the hot seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beale was sacked on Sunday (1 October) after 10 months in charge following Rangers’ 3-1 home loss against Aberdeen last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Football Insider <\/strong>revealed the following day (2 October) that the Glasgow giants have not given up hope of luring Potter as they set their sights on an A-list manager.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, it is believed the Englishman is biding his time before returning to management after offers from a number of clubs since his Chelsea sacking in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Potter<\/a> held talks over the Lyon job in the summer before pulling out and also snubbed offers from Championship duo Southampton and Leicester City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steven Davis, 38, has taken interim charge at Ibrox and faces an away trip to Aris Limassol in his first test on Thursday (5 October).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agbonlahor told Football Insider<\/strong>\u2019s Ewan Kingsbury: \u201cI don\u2019t think he\u2019d be attracted by Rangers.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe\u2019s distanced himself before, so I don\u2019t see it, to be honest.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAlso with Rangers, they are an attractive club. They won\u2019t want to be begging managers to come.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf he\u2019s not interested, they should move on and go for someone who wants to be the manager.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf I\u2019m Rangers, I\u2019d take my time. The fans won\u2019t tolerate another bad appointment, because Celtic look miles ahead of them in how they play.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere\u2019s still a lot to play for. The league is still there, and they are in the Europa League.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve got one win on the board. Get the right manager in, and there\u2019s no reason they can\u2019t go on a long run in that competition.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
