Aston Villa are considering cutting ties with kit manufacturer Castore, Football Insider can reveal.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Premier League side signed a multi-year agreement with the UK-based sports company in May 2022 to become the kit manufacturer for the men, women and youth sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Villa\u2019s men’s and women’s sides have complained about the quality of Castore\u2019s kit for the 2023\/24 season with the design supposedly weighing players down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As reported by The Guardian<\/a>, Villa have demanded that Castore produce and deliver a new kit following the complaints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Football Insider <\/strong>understands that Castore\u2019s agreement with Aston Villa is worth around \u00a34million per season to the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Villa are prepared to look elsewhere for a kit manufacturer deal, with many members of their commercial team believing they could extract better value elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Villa\u2019s previous deal with Kappa was worth \u00a33million per season over a three-year period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Castore have previously faced complaints from Rangers and Newcastle United regarding the quality of kits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following complaints from Rangers fans, Castore ended up publishing an apology<\/a> to supporters of the Glasgow giants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newcastle fans also lodged complaints<\/a> over the manufacturer\u2019s ability to keep up with demand, while others complained about poor quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newcastle ended up cutting ties with Castore with the Tyneside club instead partnering with Adidas in a deal worth an estimated \u00a325-30million per season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Villa are now prepared to follow in Newcastle\u2019s footsteps and are weighing up other options for a kit manufacturer deal from 2024\/25 onwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
