Chelsea have now received over \u00a32billion in investment since Todd Boehly\u2019s takeover last year, Football Insider can reveal.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boehly bought the London club for \u00a32.5bn last year, while an additional \u00a31.75bn was pledged by his consortium to invest in the club both on-and-off the pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over \u00a31billion has already been spent in the transfer market on new signings over the last three windows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chelsea have now topped up their \u00a31.75bn investment fund with a \u00a3400million injection from Ares Management, taking their total investment pool to \u00a32.15billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As reported by the Daily Mail<\/a>, the US-based investment fund have a deal in place with Chelsea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Football Insider <\/strong>understands that the new cash injection will be spent on Chelsea\u2019s stadium expansion plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boehly promised fans after completing the takeover that the new ownership group would invest in infrastructure improvements at the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As revealed by Football Insider<\/strong> in August, Chelsea plan to use fresh investment to begin their redevelopment of Stamford Bridge<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Blues have bid \u00a365million for a plot of land next to Stamford Bridge as they look to expand the capacity of their 40,300-seater stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chelsea have agreed a deal in principle with Stoll – who own the plot of land – and are currently awaiting the green light to begin construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new \u00a3400million cash injection could also contribute towards expanding Chelsea\u2019s multi-club project, with the Londoners reportedly<\/a> eyeing up a bid for Sporting Lisbon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Blues launched their own multi-club project through the \u00a365million purchase of French club Strasbourg this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
