Defender Joe Worrall has landed a significant pay rise after agreeing a new three-year deal at Nottingham Forest, sources have told Football Insider<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forest announced<\/a> the centre-back’s new contract, which runs until June 2026, on Friday (8 September).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Worrall’s previous<\/a> \u00a315,000-a-week deal at the City Ground was due to expire in June 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But he has now landed a significant pay rise after the club consolidated themselves in the Premier League last term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Football Insider <\/strong>revealed last month (1 August) that the 26-year-old was in talks with the Forest hierarchy about a potential renewal.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Worrall’s new agreement keeps him at the club for the best years of his career after coming through the ranks at the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A well-placed source has told Football Insider <\/strong>that Forest have moved to keep the centre-back at the club amid interest in his services from elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club captain could have discussed a pre-contract with foreign clubs on 1 January prior to signing his new deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Worrall has started three of Forest’s four Premier League games so far this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nottingham-born defender made 34 appearances across all competitions last season despite a deluge of signings threatening to take his place in the side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ex-England Under-21 international Worrall has now notched 217 total appearances for Nottingham Forest and was a key part of their eventual promotion via the Championship playoffs in the 2021-22 campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
