Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly could be available for a cut-price fee in January with Liverpool ready to swoop for his services, sources have told Football Insider<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Merseysiders could be joined in the race for the 24-year-old by Tottenham – who are also keen to land him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly<\/a> is out of contract at Bournemouth in June 2024 and can therefore discuss a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Premier League duo Liverpool and Tottenham are ready to battle to keep him in England and ensure Bournemouth recoup a fee for the centre-back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly has made two starts for the Cherries so far this season, playing 149 minutes in total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former England Under-21 international joined the south coast club in 2019 from Bristol City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He cost a reported \u00a313million and signed a five-year deal at the Vitality Stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But with Bournemouth facing the prospect of losing the defender for free at the end of that deal, it is believed they could be forced to accept a cut-price fee for his services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly has made 119 appearances in total for the Cherries, scoring twice and adding seven assists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He played 24 times last term, with an ankle injury preventing him from being an ever-present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 24-year-old can play as a centre-back and as a left-back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was keen to add a new left-sided defender in the summer window, but failed to add one to his squad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tottenham were also planning to bring in a centre-back, but couldn’t shift out-of-favour stars Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez in time to make those plans a reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
