Che Adams is now set to stay at Southampton as they are not going ahead with their move for Sunderland star Ross Stewart<\/a> due to his injury, sources have told Football Insider.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Saints had agreed terms with Stewart as well as having a bid accepted by Sunderland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it is understood that the Stewart deal has fallen through after he headed down south on deadline day for a medical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It means that Adams<\/a> will now not leave St Mary’s Stadium in a blow to his many Premier League suitors including Everton, Wolves and Bournemouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Football Insider <\/strong>first revealed on Friday (1 September) that Wolves and Bournemouth were in talks over a move for Adams<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 27-year-old has started the 2023\/24 campaign in fine form, scoring three times in four appearances for Southampton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russell Martin’s side have made an unbeaten start to their Championship season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adams featured in Southampton’s opening three league matches before being left out of the squad entirely for their clash against Queens Park Rangers last Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former Sheffield United and Birmingham City striker scored 10 goals in all competitions last season despite Southampton’s underwhelming campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has scored 34 in 149 total appearances for the Hampshire-based club since joining them in a \u00a315million move from Birmingham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stewart is yet to feature for Sunderland this season due to his injury, but the 27-year-old could now return to the fold for the Black Cats following the collapse of his Southampton move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
