Everton close on HUGE double signing, Adams update, big Gnonto update\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2gZ8PLzAS0M?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2023-07-12\/premier-league-s-sheffield-united-seeks-170-million-for-sale?leadSource=uverify%20wall\">Bloomberg<\/a>, Sheffield United\u2019s hierarchy have told potential buyers that they want bids worth \u00a3170million in order to sell the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was reported earlier this year that a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorkshirepost.co.uk\/sport\/football\/sheffield-united\/prince-abdullah-wants-to-sell-sheffield-united-in-four-weeks-but-probably-not-to-dozy-mmobuosi-4123939\">\u00a3115million deal<\/a> had been agreed with Nigerian businessman Dozy Mmobuosi, but that deal looks to have fallen through after questions were left unanswered in the EFL\u2019s &#8220;fit and proper person&#8217;s test&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Viva Mukherjee<\/strong>, a chartered accountant and football finance analyst, told <strong>Football Insider <\/strong>that the \u00a3170million asking price is more than the club\u2019s calculated value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>The Markham model &#8211; a well-respected model in the football industry &#8211; calculated Sheffield United\u2019s value at just \u00a334.6million for the 2022 season, but that was when they were in the Championship,<\/em>\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThat valuation has obviously risen since they were promoted to the Premier League.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cIf we take a look at Southampton\u2019s takeover in January 2022, the club was valued at \u00a3125million while they were an established Premier League club.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cTaking inflation into account, that valuation now lies at \u00a3153.2million.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cSheffield United are about to experience their first year back in the top flight and do not have the same potential Southampton had to generate revenues.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cSo I\u2019d expect Sheffield United\u2019s valuation to be 25 to 40 per cent lower than Southampton\u2019s takeover price.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"703\" src=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/static\/uploads\/1\/2021\/06\/1001255425_590x405_1200x824-1024x703.jpg\" alt=\"Sheffield United\" class=\"wp-image-330447\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/static\/uploads\/1\/2021\/06\/1001255425_590x405_1200x824-1024x703.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/static\/uploads\/1\/2021\/06\/1001255425_590x405_1200x824-300x206.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/static\/uploads\/1\/2021\/06\/1001255425_590x405_1200x824-768x527.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/static\/uploads\/1\/2021\/06\/1001255425_590x405_1200x824-1140x783.jpg 1140w, https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/static\/uploads\/1\/2021\/06\/1001255425_590x405_1200x824-750x515.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/static\/uploads\/1\/2021\/06\/1001255425_590x405_1200x824.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThat puts their takeover value at \u00a3114million &#8211; nowhere close to the \u00a3170million asking price.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cObviously this will change and rise if they are able to enjoy a sustained period of time in the top flight.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other news, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/kieran-maguire-drops-worrying-sheffield-united-verdict-after-8m-news\/\">Kieran Maguire drops &#8216;worrying&#8217; Sheffield United verdict after \u00a38m news<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prince Abdullah\u2019s \u00a3170milllion asking price to sell Sheffield United is far higher than the club\u2019s actual value, Football Insider has been told.
