{"id":414021,"date":"2022-05-05T20:30:00","date_gmt":"2022-05-05T19:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/?p=414021"},"modified":"2022-05-05T16:08:57","modified_gmt":"2022-05-05T15:08:57","slug":"tim-iroegbunam-set-to-be-axed-from-aston-villa-starting-xi-after-reveal-agbonlahor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/tim-iroegbunam-set-to-be-axed-from-aston-villa-starting-xi-after-reveal-agbonlahor\/","title":{"rendered":"Tim Iroegbunam set to be axed from Aston Villa starting XI after  reveal &#8211; Agbonlahor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Tim Iroegbunam to be axed from the Aston Villa starting XI against Burnley on Saturday (7 May).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking exclusively to <strong>Football Insider<\/strong>, Aston Villa&#8217;s record Premier League goalscorer insisted the 18-year-old deserves credit for his first team performances thus far but Steven Gerrard must manage him correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Iroegbunam made his full debut as Aston Villa beat Norwich City 2-0 last weekend before being replaced after 73 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote data-conversation=\"none\" class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The first of many Premier League starts for Tim Iroegbunam. \u2728 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/nc5qb5f1A6\">pic.twitter.com\/nc5qb5f1A6<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Aston Villa (@AVFCOfficial) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AVFCOfficial\/status\/1520830158902497281?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 1, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>He has now made three Premier League appearances for Gerrard&#8217;s first team since his move from West Brom last summer (2021).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As quoted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/sport\/football\/18439211\/steven-gerrard-tim-iroegbunam-aston-villa-team\/\">Sun<\/a> earlier this week (2 May), Gerrard insisted the midfielder has a really exciting future but must find his voice and &#8220;come out of his shell&#8221; now he is in the first team squad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;I think he did very well against Norwich,&#8221; <\/em>Agbonlahor told <strong>Football Insider<\/strong> correspondent Connor Whitley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;He looked very assured, very good on the ball and won the ball back.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;But maybe he doesn&#8217;t start the next game.
