{"id":413396,"date":"2022-05-03T17:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-05-03T16:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/?p=413396"},"modified":"2022-05-03T14:33:05","modified_gmt":"2022-05-03T13:33:05","slug":"aston-villa-using-man-united-to-generate-money-finance-expert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/aston-villa-using-man-united-to-generate-money-finance-expert\/","title":{"rendered":"Finance guru: Aston Villa &#8216;using Man United&#8217; to &#8216;generate money&#8217; after official announcement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Aston Villa can piggyback on Man United&#8217;s worldwide appeal to begin to push their own global brand this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That is the view of finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to <strong>Football Insider<\/strong> about Villa and United&#8217;s plans for pre-season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Villa <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avfc.co.uk\/news\/2022\/april\/27\/villa-announce-australia-pre-season-tour\/\">announced <\/a>last Tuesday (26 April) that they will tour Australia in July, playing friendlies against the Red Devils, Leeds United and Brisbane Roar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote data-conversation=\"none\" class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">See you soon, Australia! \ud83c\udde6\ud83c\uddfa<br><br>Aston Villa is excited to confirm details for the club\u2019s historic pre-season tour of Australia this summer. \ud83d\udfe3<\/p>&mdash; Aston Villa (@AVFCOfficial) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AVFCOfficial\/status\/1519572200579346433?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 28, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Villa&#8217;s turnover was \u00a3183.6million in 2020-21, while the Old Trafford giants turned over \u00a3494m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Powerbrokers at Villa Park have made no secret of their plans to bring the club to global prominence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And Plumley insists that they can use the pulling power of United to kickstart their quest for international recognition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;I think it is realistic to generate global appeal, but it will take time,&#8221;<\/em> the Sheffield Hallam University expert told <strong>Football Insider<\/strong>&#8216;s Adam Williams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;It&#8217;s no surprise to see Villa do it and other clubs looking at it as well. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;We know there are Premier League fans in Australia and Villa themselves will have a fanbase there, so you can tap into that. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;They are playing Leeds, a local club and Man United.
