Alan Hutton has insisted Marcus Rashford is “more than capable” of playing for Man United as speculation swirls about a potential Old Trafford exit.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider<\/strong>, claimed the 24-year-old “doesn’t look happy” playing for his boyhood club at present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Guardian<\/a> (7 March), Rashford is \u201cconsidering his future\u201d due to his lack of action and is giving \u201cserious consideration\u201d to asking for a move away from Old Trafford. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rashford has started none of Man United’s last four league games and has been supplanted by 19-year-old Anthony Elanga in the pecking order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The England international is out of contract in June 2023, although the Red Devils have the option to extend his deal until 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hutton suggested the forward is “playing with a massive weight on his shoulders” at present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe worry for me is, he doesn\u2019t look happy,\u201d<\/em> he told Football Insider<\/strong>‘s Russell Edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe looks like he\u2019s playing with a massive weight on his\nshoulders, at least to me.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen he first burst onto the scene, he was this happy,\nyoung, hungry kid sprinting about \u2013 and he was enjoying his football.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think he\u2019s at his best when he\u2019s cutting in off the\nleft-hand side, and when I\u2019ve watched him recently, he looks like he\u2019s just trying\ntoo hard.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe\u2019s trying to show people: \u2018Look, I am playing well.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe needs to get back to playing in that free-spirited\nway that we first saw with him. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cObviously there\u2019ll be question marks over his future, and only he\u2019ll know the answers. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
