Frank McAvennie has told Celtic to pay the reported \u00a310million fee it will take to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers permanently. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hoops icon, speaking exclusively to Football Insider<\/strong>, predicts the defender can form a partnership with Christopher Jullien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 1 December, Record Sport<\/a> reported Celtic will need to shell out \u00a310million to secure the permanent signing of Carter-Vickers<\/a>, 23. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defender has made 17 appearances in all competitions since joining the Hoops on loan from Tottenham last summer (2021).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has formed a formidable partnership with Carl Starfelt and has bagged himself two goals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

McAvennie admits \u00a310million is a big fee for Celtic to pay but suggested the club should bite the bullet to keep their loan star.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“\u00a310million is a lot of money for Celtic,”<\/em> McAvennie told Football Insider <\/strong>correspondent Ben Wild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I think he can form a decent partnership with Jullien when he comes back. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“There could be the option to play Carter-Vickers, Jullien and Starfelt as a three. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I would like to see that. With Carter-Vickers, he’s played a lot of football, more than he was getting at Tottenham. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“If things go right, he will also have silverware to his name in less than a month. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“If he stays with us, he has the chance to have a good career so I don’t think that will be the issue<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The potential hitch for a January deal is that fee. He wants to join. Will we pay it? If the money is there, I would.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We just don’t know if that’s an option at this point.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
